The reliable detection of fecal occult blood (FOB)in stool as a screening method has been well established to screen for colorectal cancer (CRC).
In several countries men as from the age of 50 arescreened routinely, as well as relatives from CRC-patients as from the age of 18.
Test principle: lateral flow immunoassay.
Test properties:
- Qualitative result within 2 minutes
- delivered as kits suitable for the handover to patients, including stool collection device and patient information
- Cut-off appropriate for the oncological diagnosis (5 µg hemoglobin / g stool or 0.05 µg hemoglobin / ml buffer, respectively)
- High sensitivity (93,6 %) and specifity (99,1 %)- Store at temperatures from 2 to 30 °C
- Exp time up to 24 months
