Automated spermiogram

Automated spermiogram

Semen analysis is becoming increasingly important in modern reproductive medicine as the proportion of patients with male infertility continues to increase. It is important to evaluate the semen sample clearly and accurately. However, manual ejaculate analysis is time-consuming and the results are subjective and difficult to compare (see requirements of RiliBÄK B4 or WHO standard 6.0). Computer-assisted semen analysis systems are a modern alternative to manual methods.

LensHooke® sperm analyzers offer a quick and easy solution for analyzing sperm quality, supported by algorithm-based software (CASA=computer assisted sperm analysis). Connectivity via device interfaces or digital data transfer via the web browser interface also makes everyday process steps and documentation of findings easier.
We offer the devices in two different versions so that you can choose between the LensHooke® X1 PRO and LensHooke® X12 PRO depending on your sample throughput and scope of analysis requirements (with or without DNA fragmentation analysis). You can also get suitable accessories, consumables and quality controls from us.

You can find detailed information about both devices on the following product pages and in our fact sheet on the automated spermiogram.
Why do the sperm need to be examined?
Sperm quality analysis is an important aspect of reproductive medicine and plays a crucial role in diagnosing infertility or confirming male fertility.
Restricted fertility is often due to reduced semen quality, which is why a qualified spermiogram is a particularly important examination as part of the diagnosis. The sperm are evaluated, among other things, in terms of their density (number), motility (movement) and morphology (shape).
What areas of application are there?
Semen analyzers are widely used in clinical diagnostics, research and infertility treatment. They play a key role in choosing treatments such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intrauterine insemination (IUI).
Consumables for sperm analysis
To automatically analyze semen, you need device-specific test cassettes so that the samples can be inserted into the devices quickly and easily. We also offer suitable consumables such as sample collection vessels, cleaning swabs and much more.
In order to check the accuracy and precision of the devices and to comply with the quality assurance guidelines of the German Medical Association (RiliBÄK B4), there are appropriate quality controls for the LensHooke® devices.
