The cryoblock with styrofoam coating is used to safely transport the inoculated and frozen cryotubes from the freezer to the workplace and protects the tubes from thawing during this time. This means that the tubes remain frozen and the cells stable even after 45 minutes of transport. Without using the cryoblock, the cells are already thawed after 3 minutes.
The cryoblock comes with a styrofoam box and has space for 18 tubes. It is stored in the freezer.
