Digital blood pressure monitors

Digital blood pressure monitors

Healthcare is also influenced by technological developments. Digital methods are increasingly being used to treat and examine patients. Electric sphygmomanometers are a modern alternative to mechanical blood pressure monitors.
These devices provide a convenient way to monitor blood pressure regularly, which is particularly useful for people with high blood pressure or other cardiovascular diseases.
With us you will find digital blood pressure monitors from various manufacturers and the matching cuffs. If you are missing any other accessories, please feel free to contact us.

How does an electric blood pressure monitor work?

The principle of blood pressure measurement is the same for all procedures. Arterial pressure is measured by counter pressure. For this purpose, a cuff on the upper arm or wrist is filled with air and the blood pressure is derived using a measuring method (auscultatory or oscillometric).
Our digital blood pressure monitors determine blood pressure oscillometrically. The vibrations of the pulsating blood are measured and the blood pressure is calculated from this. The digital displays give very correct readings for the respective blood pressure. This means that the device can also be used on your own without outside help.

What is the difference to the mechanical blood pressure monitor?

Digital blood pressure monitors are becoming increasingly popular, although analog blood pressure measurements are still commonly performed and viewed as a precise examination method.
Digital devices expand the treatment spectrum and reduce the effort for the user. Even patients who have no experience with regular blood pressure measurement can usually cope with it without any problems.
In addition, these modern measuring devices offer many valuable measurement options, especially for inexperienced people. For example, several results can be saved, depending on the model even for different users, so that several people in a household can use the device every day and keep an eye on their values. This may even eliminate the need to keep a careful record of the results achieved every day, which could be a real relief for many patients.
When used correctly, the digital displays give very correct readings for the respective blood pressure. Even with small displays, the display is usually still easy to read. The acoustic messages that help you read and understand the measured values are also very practical. In addition, no additional accessories are required for an electronic device, while stethoscopes must always be used for the mechanical version.
