The KariesScreenTest (KST) is a reliable in vitro diagnostik to determine a patient`s individual risk to develop caries.Â
The KST should be part of the regular prophylaxis and works by identifying acid-forming cariogenic bacteria such as streptococcus mutans or lactobacillus species on highly selective growth media.
The opportunistic identification of Candida species mounts an additional risk factor.

10 Test kits of KariesScreenTest incl. parafin pellets, growth media, CO2-tablets.
We recommend to perform in parallel the Saliva +P buffering test (MD2429)!
