The Microbank™ is ideal for long-term storage of bacteria and fungal isolates.
Each Microbank™ tube contains approximately 25 sterile colored beads embedded in cryo medium. The porous surface of the beads allows the microorganisms to adhere well after inoculation.
For longer storage, inoculated Microbank™ tubes should be stored at -70°C.
For recultivation, a single bead can easily be removed from the tube and inoculation of a suitable culture medium can be used directly.
